Victorious Roleplaying Wiki

lolol terrible title but I was just following in the footsteps of Marie's Declaration of Wikipendence since this blog is a response to that one.

I proposed in the comments that several of the issues could be resolved if you guys had a system for people to bring stuff up for discussion and do community votes. Currently it seems like people discuss stuff with each other and then bring it up to a bureaucrat, who feels that she singlehandedly should not have the power to decide what to do with the policy, but since the bureaucrats are all active at different times, they don't really have a channel for discussing.

Here I introduce a forum...a method to allow all users to speak up and voice their opinion.

I use the forum vote for the Sam and Cat Wiki. When I first inherited the wiki after the founder self-demoted, I was pretty dissatisfied with the existing administrative staff, so I, with the help of EpicFork, made this http://samandcat.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Redistribution_of_administrative_rights to give everyone a fair say. This is a method I propose you guys could use to discuss all community changes or promotions. I don't think it'd work well on large wikis to give every user a change to vote, but this seems to be just the right size for it.

I have already made test page for you guys to see

Community Discussions

This is the page for proposing and discussing community issues! Use the box below to create a new discussion or click on one of the active discussions to add your opinion to the mix. The {{support}}, {{neutral}}, and {{oppose}} templates can help give quick reference to your stance on issues that require it.

Use the {{archive|<reason>}} template to archive a closed discussion and put it under the archived discussions heading.

All active threads like the one you see there will show up under the active discussions heading. And I also made an {{archive}} template so that you can type it on the forum to archive the discussion under that heading.

Voting can work using the {{support}}, {{neutral}}, and {{oppose}} templates.

Anyway, this is just a recommendation. Please let me know whether or not you're up for implementing this idea~

Thanks for reading.
